Whew, I’ve had a busy posting day! For those of you who follow my personal life as well as my writing life, I wanted to let you know about some happenings here in my own private Indiana. It seems that the fates have a lot of medical meanderings in store for Carter and me this year. Carter will be having two serious surgeries (neck/back and abdomin) in the next few months, so we’re pretty busy right now with doctor visits and testing (this following a recent fainting spell of mine that was of no medical consequence but kept me busy with tests for the following two weeks—sheesh!).
My postings may be—and have been!—a bit sporadic for a time. I’m sorry about this, as connecting in this way with you all has great meaning for me and I look forward to both sharing with, and hearing from, you. Thanks so much for your patience and prayers!
“Life happens when you’ve made other plans”….how true. Glad you are okay Susan, and glad to know that even with Carter’s pending surgeries, it sounds like he’ll come out alright. Our year of medical upheaval came in ’08 to ’09, unexplained illnesses and a surgery too. But “all shall be well, all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well”. Please know, as much as you have been there for us, we are here for you just the same! That’s what a community does for each other….we take care, we listen and we love one another. Bless you and Carter and your dogs, cat and assorted woodland creatures! Peace…Cindy
Thanks, Cindy! I feel he will come out of this all with improved health.
I usually go into things like this without expectation. I mean, by that, I do not expect anything to go wrong. I trust that my doctors know what they are doing and that they will do only what is necessary. I am by no means fearless. It’s just that I do what I can to prepare, get as much information as I can and ask all the questions I can think of. In that way, I stir the Myst (the active part of Mystery) and then I wait patiently as Mystery takes care of the rest. Once you have done all you can, there is nothing to do but wait and see how Mystery unfolds. Actions always bring results but hardly ever what you expect.
Thank you for sharing your personal health updates. Last year, 09, was for me a year of downward spiraling health with a couple of fainting events also. Totally baffling and yet, requiring lots of spiritual and healthful work on my part. That’s when a wonderful friend turned me on to your site and ever since I eagerly await your postings, your inspiring tales of your rescues and a viewing of the beautiful place where you and Carter live. Thanks for everything you have written and shared this past year, Susan, and may 2010 fall into a secure and predictable routine for you and Carter as this winter bluster rolls into spring.
Kathey, what a lovely message! I’m so glad you find my blog useful!
We’ll look forward to your posts when you’re able, and in the meantime, yes, we’ll be keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.
I will be treating for the very best outcome for Carter and you. Many blessings…… Erin
Erin, thanks so much for the help!
I follow your postings, knowing you post and answer quickly. When you don’t I fear that something is wrong. I know you will both stay strong. At this time in our lives, we don’t seem as sturdy as we did back in the 60’s. Look forward to your birthday, I am looking forward to mine. Spring is coming, this is just a brief chill to let you know that the groundhog did see his shadow and there will be six more weeks of winter to go. But even if he did not see his shadow, there are 6 more weeks til spring. Hang in things can only get better. 🙂
Peace and Love Lisa
Oh, Lisa, so great to hear from you! Yes, surely the good weather is on its way! Are you planning to go to our highschool reunion?
I love your books and all you write. It seems you think the same way I do about how we should treat animals and nature. One question: how many books have you written? Just wondering. I can never remember things like that. Keep up the great writing.
P.S. I love your dog’s name- Mazel Tov! I never would have thought of that, and I love making up quirky names.
Hi Foxface—I have five books, and they are listed on my website. Thanks for the kind words!
